I can't believe I have lived in Ontario all my life and have never been here sooner. I love historic places, especially ones with marine connections. The entry fee is extremely reasonable. It took us a few hours to meander through the entire site, and enjoyed the presentations from the actors. The only thing that would make this experience better would be if you could actually take a sail on the HMS Tecumseth.
So much enjoyed having someone in cabins explaining tools, life and giving the place so much meaning. The ship is very cool to go before deck. The kids loved how interactive it was.
If you enjoy history , this place is a must. The staff are very knowledgeable about the history . Make sure you have at least few hours designated for the Discovery Harbour. There is more to see than what you expect to see.
Went with the kids (8 & 10), wife and dog (pet friendly attraction). It was absolutely stunning being on the water. The staff inside the ticket area were 10/10. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Lots to see and staff working the different parts of the Harbour were amazing. Kids asked questions and learned a bit as well about the history. Would highly recommend. Parking is free also.
We visited here to see the historical ship from Awenda Provincial Park during camping. We were so glad to bring our dogs and show them all the beautiful scenery. Literally our doggies loved to come in and look around all the historic buildings more than us 🤣🤣
So kind wardens, well maintained places.
Highly recommend!!
Why was Penetang chosen for a naval Harbour in the War of 1812? Find out by visiting, stepping back into history both on land and on the reproduced ship, The Tecumseh.
What a wonderful time at pumpkinferno! All the pumpkins looked amazing 👏 well done to all the artists …
Wow. This place is amazing if you love Canadian history and have time to walk, see, read and imagine. Is a museum of history. I had a wonderful time. You get a map at the entrance. Everything has number and explain. Each station has a tour guide. We asked them to tell us. They are amazing. So much history. At the end beautiful brand new museum. A must !!!! Lovely restaurant at the entrance!! We spend like 3 hours !! Amazing!!
